This 3 carat Rowan Ring features an undeniably gorgeous combination of an elongated crushed ice radiant cut center stone and a dainty, 1.85mm band with three-sided pavé detail. This was a custom version we did for a client, with this beautiful 10x6.5mm center stone. From the side, you see a beautiful invisible halo. As with all of our engagement rings, this setting is designed so bands can sit flush.

LIGHTING //

We believe in only showing our rings and stones in real world lighting. The majority of our videos are taken at a local coffee shop in Charleston; otherwise, they are shown in direct sunlight, or what we lovingly call "crap office lighting".

METAL //

We can craft any ring in 14k, 18k or platinum. Our styles are always showcased in 14k gold, as it is the most budget-friendly option with the hardest, most durable alloy. FACETING //

Some stone types are available with different facets. Step cuts like Emerald and Asscher cuts are available with or without windmills in our modern white moissanite. Cushions, Ovals and Radiants are available in Brilliant (traditional), Crushed Ice Hybrid (a fusion of the two, not available in ovals) or “Crushed Ice” — you can find visual comparisons of each here. MELEE //

Melee is the type of side stone we prefer, chosen for its delicate size and precise detail. We offer moissanite melee ($) or diamond melee ($$) in all designs. Options include black moissanite, yellow diamond, pink diamond, pale pink sapphire, yellow sapphire or blue sapphire melee in specific designs. STONE CUT //

STONE SIZE //

With both moissanite and morganite, all stones are measured in millimeters rather than carats. Please note, all carat weights listed are based on averages and a visual comparison to a diamond of the same size. To see a comparison of the stone sizes on hand, please visit here. If the stone size you want is not listed as an option, don’t worry: we cut all of our own stones and can do any ratio of elongation or any specific size (down to .5mm). STONE COLOR //

We offer any type of stone for any ring, such as lab-created sapphires, natural sapphires, quartz, aquamarine and both natural and lab-created diamonds. But for moissanite, the options are practically endless. We offer four color grades of Moissanite: Modern White (DEF color, $375 per carat), Vintage White (GHI color, $300 per carat), Canary (ranging from pale to vivid yellow, $300 per carat) and Fancy Color (orange, champagne, green, blue, gray and black, $275 per carat). For morganite purchases, our team will contact you with stone options and colors after you purchase to ensure you get the exact hue you would like. CENTER STONE ORIENTATION //

Due to the detailed process of custom ring design, we keep all communication with our customers on Instagram DMs and Email. This provides both us as a company and our customers a record of all inspiration pieces, questions, and design preferences. This also enables us to ensure we are providing the best possible customer service.

The East West Gem Company was born out of an organic love for completely custom jewelry, an obsession with the stone we know as moissanite, and a desire to do things differently.

Generally, jewelry has incredibly high markups. Traditionally, one jeweler in-house does everything (cutting stones, setting pave, making CADS, etc.), the company outsources to countries like China, or buys mass-produced styles—all the while marking up the price multiple times. This creates uninspired, not customizable, expensive jewelry that is lower quality and takes upwards of eight weeks. We said, absolutely not.

We named our company the East West Gem Company for three reasons. The first is that our very first piece, known as The Parker Ring, was an east-west set emerald cut stone. The second reason is that we have an office located in Los Angeles and Charleston, with operations on both the East and West Coast. Finally, we aim to turn the traditional way of making jewelry upside down. Made with love by artisans right here in Los Angeles, our process is quick, inspired, completely customizable, and absolutely affordable.

Our secret? We don’t do anything the way it’s traditionally been done. We are completely online, which keeps prices low while we tailor the experience to each and every customer. Next, we cut out the middle men by going directly to the source for our stones. This means full creative control over cuts, length-to-width ratios, facet patterns, colors, and dimensions. Furthermore, instead of paying a single jeweler to work for us full-time and being limited to his skill set, we utilize over 15 artisans who are the very best at what they do. This means getting the best of everything in the most efficient way possible—cutting down both cost and wait times.

All of this results in a custom made piece, design specifically for you. Any detail, color, cut, carat size, stone, or setting detail can be changed to your liking.
